Staff Profiles - New Zealand
Hi all, I joined Debitsuccess in March this year. I work in the IT team, making sure the infrastructure runs the way it's supposed to.
I have lived in NZ for 5 years, having grown up in Melbourne and while I have been to a few Blues games, my first love obviously is AFL and the mighty Essendon Bombers.
Apart from that, I attempt to chase (unsuccessfully!) a 4 year old and a 2 year old around the house.
Hi everyone, my name is Carol Morphew and I live on the North Shore. Born in the first half of the last century means I am supposedly what they call a baby boomer. I hail from South Africa, and have been in New Zealand 7 ½ years now. It is great to be living in this awesome country. I came here to attend my daughter's wedding and never went back.
My daughter Tarryn van Zyl, you already know as part of the Debitsuccess team. I am blessed with 3 beautiful grandchildren. Two are Tarryn's, Johanna 3 ½, Kolby almost 2, here in New Zealand and the youngest Ryder 4mths who I have yet to meet. His father is Ean and his uncle is Dale. My two sons are still in SA. Ean is a Diesel mechanic and Dale is a Farm manager and also represents South Africa in Canoe-Polo.
I was born in Durban where I grew up and completed my education. I was involved in many sports such as hockey, tennis, squash and swimming. My other interests are photography, reading and computers. When I got married we lived on the family sugar cane and poultry farm and later went on to buy our own dairy and poultry farm where I raised my 3 children. This was near a town called Howick in Natal.
I have over the years worked in different industries and some are as follows: Computer programming, Rent collections and credit control, Wages and salaries and PR, Dairy and Poultry Farming, Food Industry – Catering, Restaurateur, Health and Wellness, Telemarketeting, CSR and 2 IC for an International Charity with Child sponsorships.
My basic philosophy in life is that Life is for Living and we need to do that. We have the power of choice as to how we view life and events and if we always go forward into each new day with a smile it's already attracting the same to us. If we help enough people get what they want we will get what we want from life.
It is great to be a part of such a caring company and I trust I have a part to play as I utilize my skills in assisting with the everyday operations of this company in a small way.
I joined Debitsuccess in December last year as a member of the application support team. My role was created to bring in additional resource and support the growing needs of the business. I work primarily with our internal applications and perform database tasks such as data extraction and manipulation.
I previously worked for a mystery shopping company for over 10 years. During which time I supported internally developed applications and helped to develop reports for an online reporting solution.
I enjoy spending my time outside the office with family and friends in a variety of pursuits, from fishing and kayaking to motorsport track days and even walking the dog.
Hi everyone, my name is Hiria. I come from mainly a Maori/Irish/Fijian background and grew up on the North Shore where I attended Birkenhead College. After which I began working in retail management at Valleygirl/Temt and Diva Jewellery for a few years. I then moved into customer service and also tried telemarketing and door-to-door sales, which was interesting! Over the last few years I have been working casually at Chrisco Hampers and also studied Psychology at Massey University. I enjoy spending time with my boyfriend, friends and family. I love our country, but I also plan to travel around the world in the future and complete my studies. I also want to be a counselor at some stage.
Hi, my name is Hung Nguyen and I am the newest member of the Software Development Team at Debitsuccess. Before joining Debitsuccess I had spent 4 years as a Senior .Net Developer at Beca Applied Technologies, which is part of the Beca group of companies. Beca is one of the largest employee-owned engineering and related consultancy services companies in the Asia-Pacific area. In my spare time I enjoy being out in the sun. On most weekends if the weather is good, you will find me out side tending the garden.
I am from England and have previously spent all of my life in or close to London. My partner is a returning Kiwi and we moved over at the end of last year. Prior to starting at Debitsuccess, I spent 11 years at the same software company including a short stint working remotely from New Zealand. Outside of work I enjoy the usual things such as gigs, movies and sports. In sport I particularly enjoy displaying my lack of skill on the football (I don't use the “s” word!) field and “running” rather pathetically. To complete our relocation my partner and I intend to have a house built in West Auckland where we would like to settle.
Hi everyone, my name is Tamuka Nyawo, I moved to New Zealand in 2007 from England. Having considered the idea of moving to New Zealand for several years, I finally decided to make the move in February 2007.
I studied Law at the University of London and was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 2010.
In England, I lived in Ipswich and worked for a London-based Stockbroking firm called Killik & Co as a Legal and Compliance Executive. Most recently, I worked for Baycorp (NZ) Limited as Group Legal Counsel.
In my leisure time I enjoy reading Biographies which range from charismatic political leaders to inspirational sporting icons. I closely follow the English Premier League Football and fanatically support Liverpool Football Club, a Club that I have supported since I was 9 years old.
I look forward to working with you all.
